Continuing Nokia’s time-honored tradition of releasing dumbphones aimed at the CDMA market, the Nokia 2608, at first glance, actually looks like a slick phone. It’s very similar to the 3555, complete with the seamless back, although the keypad more closely resembles a Nokia N90 than anything. And it looks extremely thick.

If Batman carried a cell phone, would it be the Nokia 6205? That’s a tough question to answer. But either way, the Nokia “Dark Knight Edition” 6205 non-smartphone is headed (exclusively) for Verizon.
Nokia hasn’t exactly been much of a presence in the North American CDMA world. The latest attempt to change that sad fact has resulted in what I’d call the absolute quietest phone announcement ever, with the only noticeable mention of these two phones on Nokia’s press bulletin board. First up: the Nokia 3606 CDMA clamshell.
Nokia. CDMA. Two words that you don’t normally find together, thanks to an ongoing feud between the phone giant and chipmaker Qualcomm that ceased to be entertaining about five years ago.
Besides a couple of lackluster phones, Nokia’s presence in Verizon and Sprint stores has been practically non-existent. But no more!

So finally we’ve got a little bit more to work with in terms of the new Nokia phones released at Nokia Connections 2006. We’ll be looking deeper into the two CDMA phones released: the Nokia 6275i and the Nokia 2875i phones.

Nokia Connection 2006 is currently underway in Singapore, and it’s bursting with a lot of mostly boring information about Nokia’s future business plans. However, Nokia did use the opportunity to announce five new mid-tier candybar handsets coming soon.
