Nokia's Beta Labs has been pretty busy with three new releases in the past couple of days: the Step Counter, Headlines, and Communication Center.
So it's been awhile since we visited Nokia's N-Gage platform, which went live in early April. What's new? Inside: the Great Gameloft Giveaway and Reset Generation, Nokia's/Redlynx's new flagship game.
For a limited time, Nokia is offering a free full version copy of EA's FIFA 08 game. Just download and install the N-Gage application (and be one of the first 20000 people) and it's yours.
Offer expires May 30, 2008!

Gizmodo reports that the latest mobile Firefox release is quite the speed demon compared to Nokia's own Firefox-based browser on the N810 internet tablet: to the tune of being six times faster. That is, if you trust the SunSpider JavaScript benchmarking program.
The latest version of Nokia's handy Text Messenger gadget is now available for download at the Beta Labs.
New changes include compatibility for non-English PCs, and a fix for the sidebar crash bug.
Text Messenger allows you to send and receive text messages as long as your phone is connected to your pc via Nokia's PC Suite software. It does require Vista, however.
We've got an update on the Virtual Gameboy Advance emulator - the new version is 3.5, and has been ported to Maemo (Nokia's internet tablets) and Unix/Linux. According to the release, the Maemo edition utilizes the touch screen for a joystick. There's also the usual bug fixes and optimizations too.
See Marat's VGBA emulator page for more info (and to download the trial version).
Ever heard of the Dash? It's a GPS that anonymously reports location data to a central processor, which in turn figures out what areas are moving at a snail's pace, and reroutes the GPS accordingly.
Trapster, while not quite as autonomous, is a mobile service that lets motorists send information about speed traps and red light cameras using simple keystrokes. Taking full advantage of GPS-enabled phones, it can warn (other) users of possible hot spots. Nothing like taking one for the team!
Hit up the Nokia N-Gage site to grab the official N-Gage application, now available for the N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95, and N95 8GB models.
Games available for free download are System Rush Evolution (of course), Asphalt 3, Brain Challenge, World Series of Poker, and Hooked On: Creatures of the Deep.
Nokia's N-Gage platform beta test, code-named First Access, will officially end tomorrow, March 27. This of course means that all your account information, N-Gage points, saved games and other fun stuff will be completely wiped.
The latest product of Nokia's Beta Labs is the aptly named Text Messenger gadget. No, not text messager, messenger.
In the Nokia 6210 Navigator preview, I touched briefly on the latest version of the software formerly known as smart2go: Maps 2.0. Here's a slightly more in-depth look at the application.
