Nokia N85: Possibly Coming Tomorrow and Bringing a Friend

Electronista has the latest on the Nokia N79 and N85 smartphones, which is – they’re coming. Tomorrow.

The N85 looks to be the successor to the N81, and comes with a couple major improvements across the board: 5 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, 2.6 AMOLED display, 28 hours of music playback, and possible an FM transmitter or two. It also seems that the N85 will feature dedicated gaming buttons. Here’s hoping the firmware isn’t as riddled with bugs as its predecessor.

Meanwhile, the Nokia N79 will be the “new” N78, despite the fact that the N78 has been out for a grand total of 5 months. Updated features include another bump up to 5 megapixels and “full 3G.” The N79′s back cover will be released in different colors, similar to the Xpress-On covers of old.

No word yet on prices, but all signs point to these phones being more affordable than previous iterations. More on this tomorrow.
