Preview: Nokia 6205 BatPhone

If Batman carried a cell phone, would it be the Nokia 6205? That's a tough question to answer. But either way, the Nokia "Dark Knight Edition" 6205 non-smartphone is headed (exclusively) for Verizon.

The BatPhone

So let's see some specs on this Dark Knight-inspired bad boy:

  • 1.3 megapixel camera
  • 58 megabytes of internal memory
  • Speakerphone
  • Bluetooth
  • "The Dark Knight" themed wallpapers, voice tones, and screensavers

On a more serious note, the 6205 does support up to 4 gigs of expandable memory (microSD), and the camera has a flash at least. There's some interesting touch-sensitive dedicated playback buttons on the front. And the battery life isn't horrible - you'll get up to 4.4 hours with this BatPhone.

But I'm confused. Is this seriously the best that Nokia could come up with in a CDMA phone? Because I'd have to say, it's some major epic fail. I'm not quite sure why Nokia started up its CDMA line just to make more subpar phones for Verizon. Is it too much to produce just one decent model?

The Nokia 6205 is available on Verizon's web site, for the every day low price of $69.99 with a 2-year service agreement.
