Gizmodo reports that the N96 "monsterphone" (good term for that one) could be coming out as soon as July 31st. The problem: it's listed at 599 British Pounds, or $1182 US bucks by today's standards. That's right - twelve hundred big ones for the big 9-6.
N95 NAM users clamoring for a software update shall clamor no more: Nokia has released the long-awaited N95-3 firmware update (and a month early to boot).

Having been stuck in beta for a couple of months, the official S60 version of Nokia Maps 2.0 is now available for download. Unfortunately, the S40 version is still unavailable - or at least it seems unless you purchase a new S40 phone.

So last Thursday I made the trip out to New York City - to a bar called Slate nestled deep in the heart of Manhattan. It's one of those hip, happening places that I'm not all that used to, living in the 'burbs. Except it's a little different from your average bar thanks to the addition of like 20 pool/table tennis tables strewn around the area.
The event at Slate was Nokia's own "Open to Anything" get-together, hosted by the folks at WOMWorld. A big thanks to Richard, Colin, and Siobhan from WOMWorld for setting up the event and inviting me out there!
