Firefox Browser on the N810: 6X Faster Than Nokia’s?

Gizmodo reports that the latest mobile Firefox release is quite the speed demon compared to Nokia’s own Firefox-based browser on the N810 internet tablet: to the tune of being six times faster. That is, if you trust the SunSpider JavaScript benchmarking program.


It’s probably good to note here that web sites aren’t just JavaScript, so the test doesn’t necessarily mean your favorite pages will load that much faster. But it’s definitely a step in the right direction, and combined with Mobile Firefox’s support for FF extensions and (soon to come) improved touch-screen browsing will also give it that extra edge in the mobile space.
