Preview: Nokia 6124 Classic Phone

Following up the Tmobile-exclusive 6650 flip phone is the Nokia 6124, aimed at Vodafone markets worldwide.

Call it a stripped-down version of the 6220 Classic.

Nokia's 6124 Classic is just like 6220 Classic, minus the features.

The 6124 is your low-to-mid tier, run-of-the-mill candy bar. It's an S60 device and runs Symbian, but other than that there's nothing here that's much of a surprise. The screen is a tiny 2 inches, the camera is a 2 megapixel with flash, and there's support for 8 gigabyte microSD cards. One of the major selling points for the 6124 is the inclusion of HSDPA 850/2100, as well as the ability to "run several applications on the device at the same time - making it easy to browse the Web while listening to your favorite music or talking."

As mentioned before, the Nokia 6124 classic looks just like the 6220 Classic - at least until you take a look under the hood.

At least the 6124 breaks the trend for Nokia devices all releasing in the third quarter of this year. Expect this candy bar to ship in the second quarter of 2008 for a price that has yet to be determined.
