Is the Nokia HF-6W Defective?

January 18, 2008 in Nokia Phone Accessories

Damon’s Laboratory reports that not one, not two, but three of his Nokia HF-6W devices – affectionately known as “the golf club” – are dead, with no sound coming from the speakers. Bad manufacturing or just bad luck?

Unfortunately, it looks like it might have to be the former: there are a number of posts on expansys and Nokia’s own forums filled with users having problems with their HF-6Ws. In fact, you’ll be hard pressed to find ANY good reviews about this little handsfree speaker (but there’s plenty of 1 and 2-star reviews). Looks like this device gets the official Nokia Phone Blog Seal of Disapproval.

My only experience I had with the device was a returned unit at Compusa a year ago that had its packaging ripped up and retaped. Hm…

Read all about it below.
