Samsung's Earnings Report (Q3 2007)
South Korea's largest tech company reported its latest quarterly results recently, and for the most part it was a good showing all around.
The two strongest divisions for the quarter were mobile phones and flat-screen TVs, while memory chips did better than expected - even though the chip industry has been slow as a whole.
The company shipped a grand total of 42.6 handsets, more than the combined total for the entire last year. The numbers were big enough for Samsung to temporarily snag the second place spot, although this was also due to the fact that Motorola reports earnings on Thursday.
Analysts surveyed by Dow Jones estimated revenues of $18.1 billion dollars - a figure that Samsung beat with its $18.16 billion dollar figure.
