RIM Introduces New Blackberry Pearl Colors

In an attempt to make the Blackberry trendier than it really is, RIM (Research in Motion) announced the immediate availability of three new colors for its Pearl model: Blue, Sunset Red, and Gold.

The new colors are being sold exclusively by T-mobile, and will be offered with an optional unlimited Blackberry email only plan for $9.99 a month.

The Blackberry Pearl: Gold Edition

The Blackberry Pearl is a smartphone that's aimed more at the consumer market than the corporate world. It's a quad-band mobile phone and email/IM machine with a half-keyboard layout and a crappy camera. Having played with one for a good 20 minutes, I found that the "pearl" navigational thumbwheel was actually quite intuitive although the keyboard took some getting used to. The device is also smaller than it appears.

But no, this hasn't convinced me to convert myself into a Crackberrier.

Maybe the Pearl 2?
