Preview: Nokia 5310 XpressMusic Phone

After taking a short break from blogging, mobile phones, and Internet compliments of a nice, relaxing trip to the Boston area, the Nokia Phone Blog is back. First up on the agenda: two new XpressMusic handsets.

Number one is the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic phone, a super-thin candy bar with a taste for music.

The 5310 XpressMusic is a music phone to the core. It's got the dedicated music playback buttons, support for 4GB microSD cards, and enough battery life to last for up to 18 hours. Not too shabby.

Add the 9.9 millimeter thinness and pretty decent styling, and you've got a winner. Unless previous XpressMusic models, the 5310 features an aluminum finish so it doesn't feel as cheap as a 5300 (which I might add feels like a Fisher-Price toy).

It's refreshing to see that Nokia has matured the XpressMusic line by 10 years or so.

Expect the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic phone in the fourth quarter of 2007, when it all goes down.
