Okay, the score is probably something like Nokia 9, Qualcomm 7, but this is an attempt to simplify the situation.
A federal agency today granted Nokia's request to open an investigation into the former business partner's imports.
To make things just that much more complicated, the International Trade Commission previously granted Qualcomm's request to investigate Nokia's possible patent infringement.
The two companies have a history of complaints, lawsuits, and harsh words against each other, dating back to some time in the Stone Age.
Mobile phones powered by Qualcomm chips were supposed to be banned from importation into the USA - however, thanks to a federal court, this decision now means absolutely squat, at least until the appeals process is complete.
That's probably a good thing, since the decision affected cell phones going to some big-time carriers such as Verizon and AT&T.
