HP Announces Two New Smartphones
Hewlett-Packard is the 100-pound gorilla when it comes to personal computers, servers, and even PDAs. But now it's aiming to capture a slice of the lucrative smartphone market.
It's not too much of a surprise, considering that PDAs as of late have started shifting in that direction - think RIM's newer Blackberry models and the Palm Treo line (NOT Foleo).

The iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator is the first hard-hitting contender, with some impressive features: quad-band GSM, EDGE/HSDPA, wi-fi, Bluetooth 2.0, integrated GPS with Google Maps support, and a 3 megapixel camera for starters. Throw in a 2.8" TFT, a huge 1590 mAh battery, expandable microSD memory, and a smart touch-wheel and you've got yourself one powerhouse of a smartphone/PDA. And it's still lighter than the Nokia N93i. (145 grams vs 163 for the N93i)
No QWERTY keyboard, but that will be remedied by the...

Business Navigator Number 2, or the iPAQ 900 to be more precise, is the big brother to the iPAQ 600. Although it's a big brother with a smaller screen, the 900 features a full QWERTY keyboard as well as a larger battery (1840 mAh). Other than some small differences in styling, the iPAQ 900 is as feature-packed as the 600 series model. That means GPS, wi-fi, 3 megapixel camera, etc.
Both iPAQs run the Windows Mobile 6 operating system.
So far availability and pricing for these two devices is unknown. Stay tuned.
