Preview: Nokia N81 Phone
Back in May I reported the N81/N82 rumor that originated from Symbian Guru. While I have no idea what happened to the N82 (unless it mysteriously transformed into the N77, which is understandable), the N81 is now officially out of the bag.

There's not really a whole lot here that we hadn't heard previously: the N81 still comes in two configurations, 4GB and 8GB, and is aimed at the game-playing, music-listening, media-wanting crowd. It has two dedicated A and B buttons that are made simply for the sole purpose of gaming. One drawback: it doesn't look like the buttons are very tactile (touch sensitive maybe?). Unless Nokia went with the N95-ish flat depression buttons for the N81. I'm hoping not.
Looking at price, 360 Euros for the smaller capacity version isn't bad at all, for what seems like a power-packed WLAN-connected Symbian phone. A zero capacity version with microSD expandable memory support would certainly have been more preferable.
Camera is a 2 megapixel standard, the least impressive feature of an otherwise highly impressive phone.
It seems that the N81 is the new posterboy for the N-Gage platform and related Nokia entertainment services.
