Accessory: Nokia Bluetooth GPS Module LD-4W

Another day, another Nokia Bluetooth GPS Module. The LD-4W is the latest in Nokia's Nseries accessories line, sporting looks similar to the N93i.

Nokia's new Bluetooth GPS unit. Cool and expensive.

And let's face it: the new Bluetooth GPS module looks a hell of a lot better than the old ones, case in point:

Evolution of the Nokia GPS Module

Accessory Type: Bluetooth GPS
Acessory Compatibility: Nokia Nseries

Expected Cost: 125 Euros
Buy From: ??

Smaller than the previous iterations but just as functional, the LD-4W is meant to be a replacement for that bulky, boxy, or squatty GPS unit in your car (not counting the nuvi, of course). It's usable with any Nokia phone that supports Bluetooth and the Maps software, which more or less means any Nseries model.

Bluetooth GPS' are versatile devices, in that you can hook them up to your Nokia phone, but also your laptop - which I estimate is approximately 923 times better than looking at a 2.2" display.

The only problem is with all the new improvements Nokia's added on to the LD-4W (more LEDs), the cost almost rivals some cheaper standalone GPS models: 125 Euros.

At any rate, expect the Nokia Bluetooth GPS LD-4W in the fourth quarter of 2007.
