Nokia 6110 goes on a trip with Obi-Wan

In completely random news, Nokia's latest marketing tool for the Nokia 6110 is none other than Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Ewan McGregor as he is sometimes known.

It turns out that Obi-Wan and best friend Charley Boorman are planning on taking a motorcycle trip from Scotland to South Africa in what's called the "Long Way Down," a sort-of sequel to the pair's trip around the world that resulted in a mini-series, DVD, and book.

The Nokia 6110 Navigator is a mid-tier, quad-band slider with built-in GPS. It's a decent phone that just stops short of being an Nseries handset which is probably due to its funky styling and lack of Symbian.

Why didn't Nokia just give Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan's buddy a pair of N95 phones? Could it be the lure of the Dark Side, or something even more sinister?

Or maybe it's because someone else is already taking the N95 through China.

i heard they were actually using the garmin zumo as a few friends spotted it on the bikes when they set off. I know i’d prefer to be using the garmin rather than the nokia

You'll probably have to wait a bit until your comment shows up, due to the legions of spammers that have set their sights on the Nokia Phone Blog.
