Nokia BH-501 Bluetooth Headset
Nokia’s new BH-501 Bluetooth headset is actually a nice pair of A2DP enabled headphones.
Learn more about the BH-501′s in the full entry.
…Problem is, there aren’t very many A2DP mobile phones. A2DP (which incidentally stands for Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) allows you to listen to stereo sound instead of the crap mono you’d normally get with a typical Bluetooth headset. However, both the phone and the Bluetooth device need to support this profile.
So far, out of Nokia’s current line of phones, only these handsets support the A2DP profile: N91 (8 gb version), 8800/8801, 6300, 6280, 6233, 6151, 6131, 6085, and the 5300/5200 ExpressMusic phones.
One of Nokia’s better headsets in terms of battery life, the BH-501 has an operating time of up to 11 hours and a standby time of 150 hours. (260 mAh battery)
Of course, you’re paying the price for all this A2DP fun: the Nokia BH-501 costs 50 GBP, which is something like $100 bucks these days.
