Games: Speccy 1.2 Released

March 30, 2007 in Mobile Phone Software

Marat Fayzullin wrote in to say that version 1.2 of his Sinclair ZX Spectrum emulator called “Speccy” is now available for all you oldschoolers. Available for Symbian Third Edition phones, Windows, and MS-DOS.

“Speccy is a Sinclair ZX Spectrum emulator that will run software written
for all models of ZX Spectrum and Timex machines. In response to many
requests from the users, the new version adds fully configurable key mappings
to make more Spectrum games playable on the phones lacking an alphanumeric
keyboard. I have also added the TR-DOS support (.FDI, .TRD,
and .SCL disk images accepted) and made many fixes to the Z80 core and
the Spectrum hardware emulation. On the Symbian side, the emulator has
got a new, properly scalable, icon. If anybody would like to make a
different, better one, I am open to contributions. :)
