Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-302 Preview

If you’re one of those two people that actually owns a Nokia 7373, 7390, or 7360 (all part of Nokia’s Fashion Line) then this headset is a MUST BUY. It’s the only Nokia Bluetooth headset that completes the ensemble. I mean, come on - if you’ve got a chic phone then you need a chic matching headset.

On a more technical note, the BH-302 is one of Nokia’s newer headsets supporting Bluetooth Specification 2.0 and is backwards compatible with the older types (1.2, 1.1, etc). Bluetooth 2.0 contains some new improvements such as EDR (enhanced data rate) which should reduce battery consumption noticeably.

One other nice feature about the BH-302 headset is the battery life - on average Bluetooth headsets last for about 6 hours. Which isn’t too shabby. However, the BH-302 beats the average pretty handily, delivering up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 195 hours of standby time.

The BH-302 also has an adjustable earhook and is pretty much compatible with nearly every Nokia phone out there. Expect this new headset to come out sometime during the fourth quarter of 2006 (aka soon).

Finally, if you look at Nokia’s FAQ page for the BH-302, there’s this rather random question:

Q. After the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-302, when will Nokia bring a new wireless headset to the market?
A. We do not disclose such information.
