Phone Preview: Nokia 3250 XpressMusic

October 4, 2006 in Nokia Phone News

The original Nokia 3250 was better known as the “Twister” phone in social circles – it was also one of the few Symbian phones NOT part of the Nseries high-end line.

The 3250 XpressMusic is the latest version of the 3250.

The main gimmicky feature on this phone is the ability to rotate the bottom half of the phone (it’s a candybar) into three positions: phone mode, camera mode, and music mode. It’s actually a pretty innovative idea.

Anyway, the XpressMusic edition changes 2 small aspects of the 3250: the look and the potential amount of storage space. The 3250, both old and new used microSD cards – however, I believe the original only supported up to 1 gig memory cards. So now that’s been changed to 2 gigs. Not that the phone actually COMES with a 2 gig card, the maximum supported size is now 2 gigs.

Considering the 3250 is still a pretty new phone, I guess there just wasn’t much to change. Why fix something that ain’t broke, eh?

The new 3250 XpressMusic is unfortunately still missing a flash for the camera. Maybe in the 3250 UltraMusic edition or something.

The 3250 is expected to cost 400 Euros (!). That’s $509 US dollars!
