Phone Preview: Nokia 7373 Phone

September 5, 2006

Update: The Nokia 7373 Special Edition has been released.

Yesterday we previewed the Nokia 7390 phone. Whereas the 7390 was a stylish flip phone that’s completely new to the Nokia Fashion Line (at least in terms of looks, features, and the fact that it’s actually a flip phone), the Nokia 7373 goes full circle with a phone that looks strangely similar to its predecessor, the 7370.

The Nokia 7373 Phone

Here’s Nokia’s official description of the 7373:
Ethnic patterns and a compact swivel design gives the Nokia 7373 its
fresh look and perfect grip. Elaborate tribal markings provide a
unique point for contemporary design interpretation, where form and
decoration are married seamlessly together. This results in finely
tooled surfaces, exquisite detail, embossed finishing and further
decoration when the mobile phone is opened, proving that the Nokia
7373 is a veritable treasure chest of reference and culture.

I’m sure I’m not the only one that didn’t understand a single word from that paragraph. But anyway, the Nokia 7373 comes with an integrated 2 megapixel camera (no flash) and lots of ethnic patterns. Can’t win ‘em all, I guess.

Unfortunately, not much is known about the Nokia 7373 except that it comes with lots of graphical themes. It’s also basically a slightly updated version of the Nokia 7370 – stereo 3d speakers, music player, video player, etc. I expect more of the same junk that made the 7370 so amazing. I’m very bitter about this phone because there’s really nothing impressive about it. And how about a flash for that camera at least?

Swivel phones ain’t cheap however: the Nokia 7373 is expected to cost 350 euros ($450 USD). That’s rough.

Looking to buy the Nokia 7373? Amazon is currently selling it for $329.
