Phone Previews: Nokia 6275i and Nokia 2875i Phones

So finally we've got a little bit more to work with in terms of the new Nokia phones released at Nokia Connections 2006. We'll be looking deeper into the two CDMA phones released: the Nokia 6275i and the Nokia 2875i phones.

Check them out in the extended entry (after the picture).

Nokia 6275/6275i Phone

The Nokia 6275i is the higher-end of the two phones. Sporting a nice 240x320 pixel screen with 262,144 colors, the 6275i is a very impressive CDMA phone (note: these phones still don't hold a candle to any of the Nseries/Eseries line of GSM phones) with that also has a 2 megapixel camera with flash and video recording capability.

With support for expandable microSD memory cards, the Nokia 6275i can hold plenty of songs for use with the integrated music player. Rounding out the 6275i's laundry list of features are Bluetooth, FM radio, and stainless steel accents.

The Nokia 6275i's release date is somewhere in the fourth quarter of 2006.

The 2875i offers the best bang-for-your-buck when it comes to Nokia's CDMA line. Personally it looks like one of the plasticky, cheapo phones that everyone gets because it's free. However, it does sport a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, and an FM radio.

The screen size on the Nokia 2875i is noticeably smaller than the 6275i - it's a 128x160 pixel screen that supports up to 262,144 colors. Don't expect too much from this phone.

The Nokia 2875i's release date is also sometime in the fourth quarter of 2006. No word yet on price.

Hey, My 6275i didn't come with the (user manual promised) "GPS Application" do you know from where I can get it? The standard searches are proving very useless

Any clue as to where I can get the Nokia "GPS Application"? It seems to be mysteriously non-existent. I would like to download it if it exists.

neither of these two phones have a gps application. that's only for certain symbian os phones

how you know the battery is fully charged/ charging time
any software for web brousing i am using a rim/india/cdma connection operator rim

the phone lights up and you get a nice little dialog box whenever the battery is fully charged. (not too mention full bars on the battery meter) unfortunately, there's no way to tell how much time is left for charging.

Hi,

This phone take very long time for charging and battery life is average. The Camera is okay. The handset not comes with data cable, hence one has to invest more. Although, it is best phone in CDMA segment. GPS application have made this phone more attractive.

Can any one tell me difference between 6275 and 6275i. In India only 6275 is available, can it be utilised for TATA services also.

Sidhant on July 24, 2007 6:42 AM said...

Yes nokia 6275 can be used wid a tata indicom connection. Infact i have been using Tata indicom for quite a while now .. and there is no better service provider than TATAS .. relaince sucks and GSM cannot support data rates i need for browsing ..

This is one of the coolest phone in CDMA category. Have a whole lot of features. But it misses:
1. charging time is more comparing to other GSM phones.
2. text msg memory is too less. can store only 90 msg on phone.
3. do not support for writting longer msg(>160 charc), whereas its phone guide states this.

I want some1 to comment on these points.
