News: Nokia Sues Chinese Companies Over Phone Copies
The 100 pound gorilla that is known as Nokia is up and on the move. Today, Nokia filed suit against several Chinese conglomerates - "Shenzhen Mobile Communication Industry Developing Co, Ltd" and "Song Xun Da Zhong Ke Electronic (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd" were the two main companies involved. Nokia also named two other Chinese companioes as distributors. (for the record, the distributors were "Beijing Tongwanbao Commerce & Trade Co. Ltd An Wai Avenue No. 2 Branch" and "Beijing Xin Tongwanbao Commerce & Trade Co.")

The suit alleges that the two companies above (no, I will not repeat them) copied the design of a certain Nokia phone, manufactured similar devices, and sold them to distributors.
What Nokia phone was on the line? It was none other than the Nokia 7260. Never mind that the 7260 is "hella old" and hasn't been seen in a cell phone shop since the Dark Ages.
Ok, the phone's not that old nor is it really THAT bad of a phone. It's an oldschool triband 900/1800/1900 phone that actually has an integrated VGA camera, FM radio, "clothing and shoe size converter," voice recorder, and "flash messaging." You can find it at most Chinatown shops these days. Unfortunately for Nokia however, I don't think anyone ever actually BOUGHT the Nokia 7260. It's just too weird.
Ah well. Tomorrow should be a better day for reviews as I will be reviewing the invisibleShield and Martin Fields phone screen protectors. It should be a hot battle.
