Phone Preview: Nokia 6265i Phone
It’s been a fairly quiet week, especially for news on the Nokia home front.
Today we’ll look at Nokia’s latest CDMA/Verizon phone: the Nokia 6265i cell phone.
The 6265i is what you could call a mid-tier slider CDMA phone. It’s got a 2 megapixel camera, a very large screen, bluetooth, expandable memory, and a nice big battery…

There’s a dedicated camera key which activates the 2 megapixel/”1.92 megapixel effective resolution,” whatever that means. The 240×320 pixel, 262k color screen acts as a large viewfinder, and there’s also an integrated flash.
The battery life on the Nokiausa site is rated to be only 3.5 hours of talk time, yet the battery is no joke: it’s a 1070 mah lithium ion battery which has quite a lot of capacity, especially for this kind of phone. It’s a little weird since Nokia obviously put in a lot of additional features into the 6265i compared to other Nokia CDMA phones out in the USA.
One such example is support for expandable memory – I guess since Nokia only included 26 megabytes of onboard storage, an expandable miniSD slot seemed to be a good idea.
As previously mentioned, the Nokia 6265i phone has a slider form factor, with the screen concealing the keypad. However, the sliding mechanism does not act as a lens cap for the camera which is just too bad.
The Nokia 6265i can play Java MIDP 2.0 and BREW 1.1 games.

This phone had such potential to be one of my fav’s but there are so many bugs with the phone i think it had completely turned me off nokia. the first time it would not turn on so nokia sent me a new one, now the camera is randomly broken, it resets itself everytime i turn it off, and it will delete everything not on the memory card. byt he way the memory card isnt staying put anymore, guess the lock mechanisim gave out. no suprise. im disapointed..
The phone is wonderful. Except for 2 things. #1 The camara randomly turns on and starts taking pictures and you have to keep turning it off over and over. #2 Occassionally the hand set stops working and you can only use the loud speaker.
Im planning on buying a Nokia 6265i. is it really worth it? Is the camera really that good?how long does its camcorder record for? As far as extra features go, mp3 player’s speakers good?
please help.
