I’ve got one day left before the month ends. Which means I’ve gotta go out and get some points for my Nokia Unwired account. And this shall be my shameless plug.
Basically, if you get the most points in one month for Nokia Unwired, you score a free Nokia 6101 or Nokia 6256i phone. That’s it! It’s the simplest thing ever, except for the fact that everyone else is trying to do the same thing.
Sadly I did not win last month. I did get a hat though.
But that will all change today.
Today’s a pretty quiet day. The only newsworthy press from Nokia was an announcement for the upcoming release of the fishing game Creatures of the Deep.

So it seems like the trend these days are slider phones. They’ve been popping up, ever so slowly, into the willing hands of teenagers and the collegiates everywhere. That’s right. The “cool” kids. Almost every phone manufacturer has embraced at least some kind of slider form factor cell phone in the past year, and Nokia is one of them. However, for the most part Nokia’s sliders have been higher end phones (N80, 6270). They’ve also been GSM.
The Nokia 6305i is Nokia’s attempt to create a cool, cheap slider phone for the Verizon CDMA masses. More in the full entry.

Today is Day One of my two-day long Nokia N71 phone review. As you may well know, the N71 is Nokia’s second Nseries flip phone, with the first being the Nokia N90. However, you can’t really compare the two phones – the N90 is just a killer camera phone with superb quality photos while the N71 is more of a jack-of-all-trades cell phone. The N71 has a lot of great features, but it doesn’t have that one distinguishing feature that makes it stand out from the crowd. And I don’t think that’s necessarily a Bad Thing.

So yesterday I officially received my Nokia N71 phone. I’ll be working on a full review in the next few days (weeks?), but here are a couple first impressions.
Today is a great day. My Nokia stock (NYSE: NOK) is up following a little stock market rebounding, I got my Nokia N71 phone, and I’ve got plenty of fresh content for at least a day or two.
While I’m still fooling around (testing) with my N71, we’ll be looking at the Nokia 6270 phone. This is a quad-band, slider cell phone. It’s got, among others, a 2 megapixel camera with flash, integrated stereo speakers (3D sound supported), and a very generous keypad – for a slider.
Visual Radio is just one of those things that I find myself sputtering out from time to time with each new Nokia cell phone released. The problem is, I (and you too probably) don’t know a single thing about Visual Radio. What the heck is it?
