Nokia 6500 Slide Phone

Several new phones were released today – among them the new 6500 series. So far the 6500 series is home to only two phones – the 6500 Slide and the 6500 Classic.

According to Nokia, the 6500 Slide is a mid-range camera phone – yet it’s one of the most high-powered mid-range handsets that we’ve seen so far.

The Nokia 6500 is a powerhouse of a mid-range phone, with a strong showing of features all across the board. It’s almost half as thin as the Nokia N80, yet it still manages to pack a 2.2 inch display (supporting 16 million colors) as well as that 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. If the specs are correct, the battery life is also quite impressive – up to 6 hours with the 900 mAh lithium-ion battery.

The price is right, too: the Nokia 6500 is expected to retail for 370 Euros (about $500 dollars).

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing the 6500 for quite a while – its release date is sometime in Q3 2007, and by then the N95 might actually be affordable. Ha ha, just kidding.
